The Holidays are a great time to meet people!

There are many more parties and social events to go to during holiday season. Take advantage of these times to meet people. The more people we meet and know the more social opportunities you will be exposed to.  Some of these events can be found on the internet. There are so many internet websites out there that tell us what is going on.  All you have to do is make sure that you show up to them.  There is also your local paper that posts various events going on in your area. If you belong to a church there are usually lots of holiday projects and events to participate in.  The participation in these events or projects brings people together in a most positive way.  You can get to know someone by working on a special church project or an event that you would not necessarily be able to do during the rest of the year. During the holidays there also seem to be more parties than any other time of the year. By putting yourself out there you will be invited or invited to attend one with a friend.  There are also parties that the public can go to.  This includes public holiday parties at local stores.  Make sure to go and partake in the holiday spirit.Sometimes volunteering to help certain causes, like bringing children presents at the children’s hospital, or helping out a local homeless shelter can make you feel great as well as give you the opportunity to meet like minded individuals.  The holiday feeling puts peoples mind frame in a kinder frame….more social graces, politeness and friendlier! Anyone who is alone feels it more during the holidays and as a result, “single people” are more receptive during the holidays.  There is also more opportunity to put out olive branch to someone you have interest in.  The holiday season is all about togetherness and giving thanks for all of the positive things we have in life.  It is a great time to have a holiday get together or party to meet people. Even if it is a small gathering, people always love to get together! One of my friends had a single holiday party and told everyone to invite one person of the opposite sex who they thought was wonderful, but that was just a friend. The end result was lots of singles that had a great time mingling with some who actually hooked up!

The bottom line is to put yourself out there during the holiday season as it is a great time to meet people.  Who knows, you may meet that special someone!
